Revolutionizing Microsoft in India: Key Updates and Transformative Licensing Changes for Commercial Success

Microsoft India is set to implement significant changes to its pricing structure from February 1, 2024, with an aim to streamline commercial software and online service costs within the Asian region. This adjustment is part of Microsoft's regular evaluation of local pricing strategies for software and online services. , ensuring balanced alignment across different sectors.

From February 1, 2024, Indian rupee prices for commercial on-premises software will increase by 6%. Online services will also see a growth of 6% in line with USD pricing levels prevalent in the Asian region. The revised Indian rupee prices for certain online services, including Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365, will be visible on Microsoft.com for direct sales to Indian customers from February 1, 2024.

It is important to note that for business customers, existing orders under volume licensing agreements for products covered under price protection will remain unaffected by these changes. However, for additions of new products under such agreements and purchases made under new contracts, prices will be defined by the price list at the time of order.

Customers across India who purchase online services in Indian Rupees can expect Microsoft's cloud offering to remain highly competitive despite these adjustments.

In the case of indirect sales, where Microsoft products are distributed through resellers, the final selling prices and currency will continue to be determined by the respective resellers.
